about

“microsuffering" was a term we used throughout the lockdown and after to describe any annoyance or anxiety that could be resolved with a quick or simple action, but that we continued enduring. it’s sitting on the couch with a headache when a bottle of aspirin is just a few steps away. it’s an uncomfortable article of clothing you keep putting on. it’s the door handle that just needs a screw tightened. it’s that uncomfortable conversation you keep putting off.

this album was borne from an improv-heavy saturday of home recording in june 2022, shortly after the loss of our beloved 16 year-old cat, chloe. on a lofty scale, the album is a reflection on the past few years of personal and public uncertainty and a meditation on grief, depression, comfort and catharsis. on a smaller scale, it’s an attempt to synthesize new and interesting sounds.

the music was composed and created mainly on a korg minilogue, with additional acoustic, electric and bass guitars, field recordings and a very banged-up and well-loved yamaha DSR-2000.
